guest artist information
Thanks for considering Lacuna Studio for your guest spot :)
All of our guest spot information below, if you have any questions at the end please let me know!
location
Lacuna is located in the Junction neighborhood of Toronto, near Bloor and Lansdowne. The studio itself is a little bit tucked away, and we offer the address to clients after they’ve booked in. For public transit, we are located directly in between Dundas West Subway Station and Lansdowne Subway Station, or a short walk from the 505 Dundas and 506 College Streetcars.
studio info
There are 6 stations at the studio, 3 of which are shared. It’s a relatively quiet space and you will be given your own station to use. The studio is accessible and fairly open concept, though there is a loft area (not accessible) for artists, and a washroom in unit. The in unit washroom has a step, but there is an accessible washroom in the building if needed
While there’s no strict hours, the artists tend to work from 11am-6pm. You’ll be given a key and a temporary code for our security system, and will be free to come and go as you please.
All clients must sign the consent forms before getting tattooed, and we ask that on your first day you arrive at least 30 min before your first appointment to meet one of us so we can show you around.
supplies
You will be provided with
Common disposables (barriers, machine bags, cord sleeves, green soap etc.)
Cleaning supplies (alcohol, cavacide, biotext, etc.)
Gloves in size XS, S, or M (please tell us if you need another size!!)
Ink (Dynamic Black and Triple Black, Dynamic White, and Solid Ink colours)
Hypafix.
Your station will have a husky, greenlife bed, stool, led panel light, and trash can. There is also additional shelf storage if needed.
We DO NOT supply needles, tubes, machine, power supply, power cords, and any other customizable / machine specific parts. If you’re unsure on we have something, please feel free to ask!
Finally, If you need to ship supplies to us please let me know and I can help you order from local suppliers.
parking
The parking lot is kind of the wild west. Artists and clients can park in front of the building and are allowed to block each other in, you just need to leave a piece of paper on your dash with your phone and unit number in case someone needs you to move your car. There is also a (brand new) underground paid parking lot across the street that is less risk of getting stuck. Overall we usually recommend that everyone take public transit.
cut
The studio cut is $150CAD per day, to be paid at the end of each day or week (depending on the length of your guest spot) by cash, paypal, or interac etransfer.
closing
We want all guests to feel welcome in the space, so please let any of us know if there’s anything you need and don’t be shy to ask questions! I’d also like to emphasize that we prioritize the respect of our artists and clients. We expect all guests, clients, and artists to work towards an encouraging and respectful space for everyone. If we find that any guest has made an artist or client feel uncomfortable, steps will be taken to either rectify the situation or end the guest spot immediately. This also works both ways, if you experience anything during your stay that makes you uncomfortable, please let me know!
I think that’s everything I needed to share, but if there’s anything missing or you have any more questions please feel free to email or DM me!
Thank u dearly,
